Today is the perfect day to begin this new hobby!  It’s mother’s day and my mom has a very unique ability to make people feel special.  She really is an angel on earth in so many ways. My mom has the biggest heart in the world.  Everywhere she goes, people love her…the people at the grocery store, the post office, the dry cleaners, she shares her sparkle with everyone!  She’s the queen of sparkle and, I’m lucky enough to be her daughter.

She inspires me and I’m sure she’ll do the same for you.  Here are just a few stories-

1) I played tennis in high school.  Each and every day I had a match, my mom would pack my lunch and include a card of encouragement.  No matter what she had going on that day, there was a good luck card that brought a smile to my face and gave me the confidence I needed play my best game.

2) Like most kids in grade school, I took the bus to school and I walked to the bus stop every morning.  As I walked, I knew my mom would be there waving at me.  Just a wave meant the world to me.  We would wave at each other until we couldn’t see each other anymore and I knew she was watching out for me.

3)  My grandma got really sick with cancer in 1995.  My mom dropped everything to be by her side.  My mom was her caregiver until her very last breath on this earth and she was a pillar of strength.  Years later, she became a hospice volunteer and has brought endless joy to people during very difficult times.

I could go on forever, but you’ll hear more about my mom in future posts.  Maybe today my mom will inspire you to write a card of encouragement to someone in your life, use a simple gesture like a wave to show someone you care, or make the ultimate sacrifice and care for a person who can no longer take care of him/herself.  Moms spread the sparkle every day!!  Happy Mother’s Day to every mom!!
